Add MSE to your Treatment Tool Box
This is a two part series covering everything you ever wanted to know on how to diagnose, apply, place and execute use of MSE and TADs in the orthodontic treatment.
PART I
Part I of this course is geared towards practitioners who have not done many orthodontic cases and have never placed MSE or TADs or placed very few and still struggling with basics.
This course will present basic orthodontic diagnosis and simplified and practical approach to planning an orthodontic case. We will discuss necessary records and how to approach each case. While we review some basic knowledge, we will primarily focus on cases that would benefit from the use of MSE and/or TADs.
We will also focus on how to plan and set up an Invisalign clincheck for the best and predictable outcomes.
We will then proceed on planning basic MSE and TADs use utilizing CBCT and other existing 3D software/technology. We will review lab orders, proper placement procedures and protocols.
We will discuss possible complications and failures.
We will have a hands on portion of placing MSE on the model. We also will have a live patient basic MSE placement clinical demonstration. Participants will be able to see everything up close and understand the flow of the procedure.
At the end of the second day we will spend time on reviewing clinical cases where MSE and/or TADs were used.
PART II
Part II of the course will be geared towards practitioners who have placed MSE/TADs already and are looking for more advanced information. The participants should possess some basic knowledge of orthodontics and have treated few cases prior to the course.
We will begin session by brief review of the basics. We will go onto advanced orthodontic diagnosis and clinical applications of MSE and TADs.
We will review how to set up more complex cases using Invisalign clinchecks.
We will proceed with the discussion of digital planning of MSE and how to customize it for more difficult adult cases.
We will review expansion failures and how to avoid them predictably.
We will introduce Piezotomy for use in adults patients, to make adult cases predictable. We will review failures, possible side effects, emergencies, protocols and related procedures.
We will have a hands on portion on piezotomy utilizing 3D printed model it will be followed by live piezo assisted MARPE placement in the adult patient. Participants will be able to follow all the procedures closely.
A general practitioner should be able to plan and place advanced piezo MSE/MARPE/ TADs following completion of the course.
