Course Overview:
Everything ORTHO that you need to know to manage a Skeletal Expansion case.
This course will cover the orthodontic planning and finishing components that are critical to managing a skeletal expander case. Whether you’ve already placed MSE/TADs and are seeking more in-depth knowledge or you’re preparing to take on your first case, this course will equip you with advanced diagnosis and planning skills to manage the orthodontic treatment and finishing surrounding TAD-based expanders.
Topics covered include:
- Everything you need to know about making aligner treatment predictable.
- Change your thinking and stop relying on Invisalign technicians to deliver the best outcomes for your patients.
- Learn how to coordinate aligner treatment with MARPE, TADS and other orthodontic techniques
- Learn how to place and use TADs in your orthodontic Tx.
- Treatment planning considerations when incorporating restorative treatment after ortho.

Case Presentations: Participants can showcase their expertise with 15-minute case presentations over Zoom. Topics include patient info, diagnosis, comorbidities, decision-making, planning, execution, challenges, and resolutions.

For All Dental Professionals
Attendees will get the most out of attending Course 2 if they understand the concepts that were taught in Course 1. Course 2 is not recommended for anyone who does not have clinical experience with MARPE.

DENTAL ASSISTANT TRACK
In addition to learning alongside doctors in the main course, there is also a hands-on component on Saturday from 9am-1pm. Led by Dr. Ilya Lipkin's experienced orthodontic assistant, your dental assistant will learn the following:
- Duties of an orthodontic assistant
- Taking diagnostic records: Photos, scans, assisting on documentation and doctor’s exam
- Orthodontic clinic systems:
- Scheduling
- Surgical setup for MARPE placement and assistant protocols
- Invisalign attachments placement
- Use of NOLA retractors
- Placing brackets using templates

Meet the Instructor:
Dr. Ilya Lipkin
Ilya is a board-certified orthodontist and is a member of ASAP Pathway. He owns a private practice in New Jersey, and he completed his residency in Orthodontics at the NYU College of Dentistry. He also worked as a sleep technician while going to school and has a deep understanding of airways and sleep from that perspective. Ilya practices comprehensive dentistry from an orthodontic standpoint, balancing aesthetics, function, and anatomy.

Course withdrawal written notice 30-59 days: 50% of the course registration could be transferred to a future live course designated by the attendee.
Course withdrawal 29 days or less: Unfortunately, due to expenses incurred when planning for the course, no credits could be given for course withdrawal within 30 days of the first day of the course.
